Mill Valley is home to many festivals, including the famous Mill Valley Film Festival, Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival, Mill Valley Wine & Food Tasting, and the Dipsea Foot Race. The city also hosts several annual events, many of which have loyal followings and attract national and international visitors. These are The Mountain Play and the Mill Valley Shakespeare in Old Mill Park Amphitheater.

Dipsea Foot Race
Mill Valley’s Dipsea Foot Race hosts 1,500 cross-country runners who complete a difficult, hilly route in the beautiful Marin outdoors.
Mountain Play
For six weekends every year (from May through June), a well-attended musical is performed in the stunning amphitheater on Mount Tamalpais. Theater patrons are treated to spectacular views of the Bay in addition to a professional stage production.
Mill Valley Wine & Food Tasting
Mill Valley Wine & Food Tasting is the place to sample many rare wines from local and international vintners and enjoy fresh gourmet food under the redwoods.
Marin Designers Showcase
Marin Designers Showcase is a much anticipated event staged by Marin’s prominent interior designers. They transform a stately Marin home into a fantasy home with custom designs and materials.
Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival
Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival welcomes the autumn with a fine art exhibit. Visitors enjoy food booths and live entertainment in a majestic redwood grove.
Mill Valley Film Festival
The Mill Valley Film Festival is an 11-day event held at Sequoia and Rafael Film Centers. The program includes screenings that draw 40,000 ticket holders, both film fans and industry professionals.

Annual Tam Valley Farmers Market
The fifth annual Tam Valley Farmers Market is open every Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. in late May until November. It is held at the Shoreline Shopping Center, 219 Shoreline Highway (Hwy. 101), near Walgreens in Mill Valley.
The farmers market attracts local growers and farmers, artisan bakers, and food sellers. The produce is seasonal, often organic and diverse in variety. Savoring the aromas and flavors of the fine, fresh-baked breads, flowers and other gourmet items are a treat unto themselves.
Mill Valley Philharmonic
The Mill Valley Philharmonic performs every summer in June on select dates. This year The Mill Valley Philharmonic staged “Music of the Americas,” highlighting composers of Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and Cuba, and featured a world-premiere guitar concerto by local composer Gabriel Bolaños with Jack Sanders, guitar soloist.
