Glassdoor Launches Company Updates, a Social Recruiting Tool

Allows Employers to Post Real-Time Messages on Their Glassdoor Profiles to Target Job Seekers About Open Jobs, Company Culture and More -- Includes Hootsuite Integration

MILL VALLEY, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 19, 2015) - Glassdoor, Inc., the world's most transparent jobs and career marketplace, today announced the launch of Company Updates, a social recruiting tool that allows companies to post real-time messages on their Glassdoor profile page to target potential recruits. The Company Updates feature is available for free to any employer with a Glassdoor Free Employer Account.

"Glassdoor Company Updates allow us to give an even deeper view into our company culture and personality," said Jadea Abolahrari, manager of employment branding at Nestlé Purina PetCare Company. "Even more, we're able to easily customize our recruiting messages to accommodate the potential candidates who visit our Glassdoor page."

In addition to posting messages through the Glassdoor Employer Center, company representatives can also post to their Glassdoor profile directly through the Hootsuite platform by downloading the Glassdoor Company Updates app for Hootsuite. This makes it easy to update career and recruiting messaging through the same platform companies are already using to manage other social and professional channels and networks.

"On average, Glassdoor company profiles receive three to ten times the traffic as company pages on LinkedIn and often more than a company's own career site," said Steve Roop, SVP and general manager of Glassdoor for Employers. "Giving employers the ability to provide real-time messages that can quickly reach millions of job seekers is proving extremely valuable for recruiting and direct engagement with targeted recruits."

Through a limited beta with existing Glassdoor clients, including Salesforce, Groupon, Nestle Purina PetCare, Progressive Insurance and The Home Depot, companies using Company Updates experienced an increase in followers and average time on page once they began sharing real-time updates.

"Hootsuite is excited to partner with Glassdoor to power social recruiting for talent and HR teams," said Kevin Zellmer, global director of enterprise business development at Hootsuite. "Social media is a powerful tool for employer branding and recruiting, and our partnership with Glassdoor allows us to continue to meet our customers' needs and empower their use of social throughout their entire organization."

Company Updates publish directly to a company's Glassdoor overview page and are subsequently viewable on all tabs of the profile along a side panel. Within the Employer Center, companies can pin important posts to remain at the top of the feed and access free analytics to track impressions, engagement and followers acquired by each post. They can also monitor competitor performance, including which companies they are competing with for followers' attention.

The Glassdoor Company Updates app for Hootsuite is available in the Hootsuite App Directory for all Hootsuite users and Glassdoor Free Employer Account holders.

More than 36,000 companies have already registered for a Free Employer Account. Registration is available to official company representatives typically in human resources, recruiting, marketing, public relations, and/or executive staff. In addition to Company Updates, those with a Glassdoor Free Employer Account can respond to reviews, and access basic analytics, including visitor traffic patterns, demographic data and comparable insights for competitor companies.
