Drive-By Truckers have announced a North American tour in support of their new album, English Ocean, for this summer. The Southern rockers will get started at the Free Press Summer Festival in Houston on June 1 after returning from a jaunt through Europe the previous month. The group will then be joined by the Water Liars for a series of dates in the Southeast before making their way up north for a string of dates. A few Canadian shows will then follow and the tour will wrap up with gigs in Maryville, TN and Cincinnatti in mid-July.

As previously reported, Drive-By Truckers have also scheduled a number of tour dates for the spring, including a series of West Coast shows with Shovels & Rope and a pair of Jazz Fest after shows at New Orleans’ Civic Theatre.

In addition to their new dates, Drive-By Truckers have also released a music video for their track, “Made Up English Oceans.” The politically charged song lambasts Lee Atwater, the Ronald Reagan/George H.W. Bush operative who is best known for devising the controversial “Southern Strategy” that helped turn the South into a Republican stronghold.
